sadness, exhaustion, guilt, lack of interest in the baby,
eating and sleeping
habits change, hopelessness thoughts, difficulty
concentrating etc.
Postpartum Anxiety
Fear and worries over
the safety and health of the baby are common. Panic
attacks may occur
along with shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, loss of control.
Postpartum
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Behavior such
as repetitive, upsetting/unwanted thoughts may occur,
along with repeating
the same actions over and over again to reduce the
anxiety caused by
those thoughts.

This is often caused
as a result of a frightening or traumatic childbirth.
Flashbacks commonly
occur of the trauma and feeling anxious to
avoid anything that
relates to the event.
